Behind the scenes: January 2022

After I discovering that I LOVE sitting down to read my other entrepreneurs’ behind-the-scenes blog posts.  I’ve since committed to writing my own ones as well ?

Check out the past posts here?

Also, my favourite business coaches just finished their year in review, click here to read theirs.

If you’re new here – Hey, I’m Cherry ? I’m the creative behind Beach Babe Stock. I help intentional entrepreneurs like you with all the visual/creative aspects of building & promoting your brand. I hope to be able to help you take the first step to feeling less overwhelmed & have more fun creating beautiful visual content for your brand.

As of mid 2021, we became a small team of 2 ? Gloria helps me with all the content management and now also writes our “What’s New” blog posts.

For these Behind-The-Scenes blog posts… it’s my aim to keep track kind of “review” what went well (or didn’t) each month, as well as creating a fun post for people to enjoy reading… and I am really enjoying writing them so far too.

What Happened in January…

Lizzy’s Christmas Party Signup Deadline:

This is a heading in itself because there was still a fair bit of work to do involving the support/upkeep related to having contributed to the party, I was still getting daily signups, and had a fair bit of questions coming through my website chat box (I use Tidio & love it! *affiliate link).

In total, I gained 777 new email subscribers from this event (which is more than double what my list originally was!), I did not expect that much growth and was originally a bit shocked & slightly overwhelmed, haha.?

So… Lizzy’s Christmas Party access closed on her site on the 10th… and my coupons / links expired on the 14th. One of my favorite things about the party was that Lizzy made sure there was a strict deadline for people to sign up and access our products, meaning we as contributors didn’t need to worry about the extra support and admin things for too long and having people continue to sign up for our party gifts indefinitely. A whole lot of people had waited until the last minute to sign up for things (as you’ll see in my graphs below). I emailed people who had joined my list and not downloaded their bundle yet to remind them, so you can see there were still a lot of people getting a bundle after the 10th. ?

Idea to Launch of Online In A Day Service:

I had the idea to start offering a service-type offering (you may know them as “productized services”… but I don’t really feel the vibes with that term) around the new year, and on the 3rd of January, I sent my email list this email about the offer and asked people to click and show interest before I launched it.

A few people from my email list clicked, so I was feeling super excited about it… little did I know, I got nervous and hung up on creating the terms of service for this service and procrastinated… and procrastinated… and also got busy with all the admin tasks with the last people joining from the Christmas Part (read above ??)… until finally getting my SH*T together and actually launching this on the 20th.

And by me using the term “Launching” I mean…. sending another actual “you can book this now” email to the people who clicked and showed interest, then,  after waiting for about 24hrs… sending another email to a larger part of my email list. I’ll be honest… I got crickets from my own audience. Not one person booked.

Then, I made a post about in this great Facebook group I’m a part of (Lizzy hosts it, and it’s for her clients and students only) and so many people responded and showed interest in this, and I started getting bookings that same day. *cue happy music*

I originally launched this service at $500, and plan to increase the price after booking 5 clients.

If you’re interested in having me create your [membership site / website / tripwire funnel/ sales page design] FOR you, then you can book me here.

SIDE NOTE — if you’d like to join the group I mentioned above where I found my first few clients for this offer,  here are some of Lizzy’s awesome low-priced offers that I can highly recommend you check out if you’d like to be a part of her community:
Credit To Your Business – $9 – This is an awesome training about creating a “credit” system for your business that helps your customers/client become more loyal and want to keep returning to support your business.

Grow Your Online Business Fan Club – $47 – Ready to create your own fan club for your online business? Lizzy’s trainings are always jam packed fully of no-fluff advice and easy tasks to help you move the needle forward right away (or as soon as you’re ready to). I’ve bought this training and am waiting to go through it soon.

The Tripwire Training – $47 – The easy training on how to create your own tripwire and get surprise sales while you sleep. Who wouldn’t want that?

  • Notion – for organising everythingggggg.

Regular life things + updates:

Nek and I had a couple of BBQ nights together at home which was so nice to sit outside at night and chill minus the extra screen time of a movie. Also, really enjoyed reading these books this month… literally found them hard to put down and wanted to buy the next one as soon as I’d finished reading!

And we started seeing some house progress which was a great feeling after seeing no progress for what felt like a really long time.

We celebrated CNY (on the 31st) with one of our friends here and got a call that morning while at our friend’s place that two of Nek’s family members were in an accident. So we drove to Chumphon that afternoon and stayed overnight to spend time with his family.

Reading:

I love, love love reading for fun & so set myself the same goal as last year – to read at least 30 books this year! Here’s what I dived into in January:

  • The Event – Whitney Dineen… Did not like & don’t recommend this… something about it just didn’t sit right with me.
  • One for the Money – Janet Evanovich… found this author after putting in some book preferences on this site one of my favourite authors recommended and LOVED this book, so naturally had to get the next one (and next after that too) ??
  • Two for the Dough – Janet Evanovich
  • Three to Get Deadly – Janet Evanovich

Watching:

Don’t Look Up – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

All the Die Hard movies (Disney) – I’d never seen these before & they were pretty good.

Overall

This month was a kind of rollercoaster month…. at the start I felt inspired to launch my new service then quickly realised I needed to get on the member content creation hamster wheel and so prioritised that and THEN got back to the service and launched it and had lots of interest from Elizabeth Goddard’s group. And then at the very end of the month we receive some sad news from Nek’s side of the family and had to rush over to visit them.
