Behind the scenes: November 2021

Earlier this year I discovered that I LOVE sitting down to read my other entrepreneurs’ monthly review / BTS posts. So I thought I should do one as well! Here goes my first one:

If you’re new here – Hey, I’m Cherry ? I’m the creative behind Beach Babe Stock. Until around mid 2020, I was doing everything myself, however I have since asked Gloria to help me with all things content management so things are becoming a lot more streamlined than they used to be, all thanks to Gloria!

I’ve now got some time back to focus on other fun things, i.e; writing these blog posts, improving the website and members experience. For this blog post I thought… it would be a great way for me to keep track kind of “review” what went well (or didn’t) each month, as well as creating a fun post for people to enjoy, like I so do reading others’.

Just a quick FYI: This post may contain some affiliate links to products / services I love and recommend. So, if you click through and make a purchase I might earn a percentage.  There’s never any extra cost to you.

What Happened in November…

Made a “sales page” for the Mini Membership:

I created a super simple sales page for my new offering called the Mini Membership that I had created and launched in October…. it basically just looks like a product page, and I tried to make it look a little more pretty ?

Created a new freebie:

It’s called 30 Days of Content and is going to help you in creating your content over the next 30 days. You can grab it on the Tools I ❤ page.

Created + told people about the Tools I ❤ page I made:

I made this page called Tools I love. My goal for it is that I want it to become the place I can send people who have recently come across my brand to go and get access to both my freebies as well as see what I have to offer + recommend in one place.

So far, I’ve added the link for it to the BBS footer, as well as shared it in an email,  and I can already see a small trickle of extra signups from it already! Basically, I’m really happy with how it turned out, and how it’s performing so far.

Had a BFCM sale (very last minute):

I had a decided the day (maybe it was two days) before we were due to go on a mini anniversary holiday to have a sale for Black Friday / Cyber Monday.

I sent out this email the night before Nek and I left for Krabi (read below in the personal section) and came back from our weekend and sent this one out.

Usually (for me personally) having a BFCM sale would mean a bit of planning in advance and at least *knowing* what I would offer… however this year, I just wasn’t feeling it and decided on it really last minute. We had a couple of new members join on the monthly, and yearly membership.

Blog posts:

Email list numbers:

682 email subscribers – 23 more people than last month.

Growth + learning this month:

Chillpreneur – I bought this book (kindle) on sale through Denise’s email list & can’t wait to dive into it.

WAIM – dived into a couple of their WAIM ai coaching prep talks this month, as well as watched their weekly life/business update video inside the group coaching community. WAIM isn’t launching at the moment, however if you’re interested you can sneak in with my affiliate link straight to checkout and join today if you like. It’s a wonderful community of supportive, kind business owners who love being un-boring in business and growing together ?

Tech I used this month:

  • WooCommerce – to process payments & deliver products on my site.
  • Divi – my website builder… Divi makes life sooo easy ?.
  • Notion – for organising everything from hosting our Affiliate HQ page to sharing SOPs with Gloria to my own to-do list and even some normal life things.
  • Tailwind – helps streamlining my Pinterest marketing.
  • MailerLite – the email marketing platform that I use to send emails out.
  • Whats App – Gloria and I communicate almost mainly on WhatsApp.
  • Google Workspace – to host my business hub of emails (Gmail), storage (Google Drive), documents (Google Docs + Sheets) and some old surveys that are still on Google Forms.
  • Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom – to edit all the new members images each month.
  • Canva – creating members’ templates as well as all our own graphics and things.
  • Loom – I use loom to make SOP videos for Gloria and she loves them.
  • NameCheap – for all my domains/SSLs and hosting. This month I purchased their VPN service as well.

Regular life things + updates:

I’d been having a couple of months of feeling low on energy… a little uninspired and depleted and in the last week of Nov, it was Nek and I’s 2nd anniversary (of being married) so I booked us into a cute hotel in Krabi at the start of the month. We had grand plans to go on several hikes in the same province, breathe some fresh air and see some nice views – you know? I was really lovely to get to spend the weekend away (I didn’t touch a thing of work — which is almost unheard of for me) and do one of the hikes – the short version is we got rejected from the park ? – and eat a lot of delicious food (yum cha + night markets + a delicious bakery that was right below where we stayed).

Reading:

I’ve loved reading since I was a kid and life kind of got in the way for a while… however these past few years I’ve picked it up again and I think I’m on track to read 30 books this year, I’ll let you know if I made it in next month’s BTS post. I love reading business books as well as fiction books, but find that I really get into the zone of reading more when it’s “for fun” because I work on my business most days, and I don’t have much headspace left over to dive into a business book a lot of the time.

Watching:

Undercover (Netflix)

If you’re looking for some other awesome BTS posts to read from business owners, these are the people who write really good ones:

  • Ruth Ridgeway  Ruth’s posts had me hooked from the first one of hers I read earlier this year… and I’ve since read all her past ones. This post is inspired by Ruth’s posts and I asked her and apparently she’ll even be launching a little something next year about writing these for yourself!
  • Kim White started hers this month as well… which I found out about from her email list, go and have a read!
  • Lizzy Goddard does a huge yearly one that I love reading, and it’s soo cool to be able to flip back through her past years and see her amazing gowth and all the lessons she shares.
  • Jason and Caroline | Wandering Aimfully (my awesome business coaches) are so open and are always sharing behind-the-scenes things. It’s one of the things I love most about being a part of their group coaching community.
