Last week I talked about some of the visual elements you need to be focusing on to grow your feed, and today I’m going to share the second and -possibly- most important aspect (although they go hand-in-hand). Neither of these would survive without the other.
Write good captions that your audience is interested in.
What’s the ultimate goal of running your Instagram account for your business? To get clients/customers, right? So what we want to do here is create posts that will make people want to talk to you, and engage with you. Because more engagement = more people that are invested in you and your story, the more you’ll attract your ideal client, and the more bookings/purchases you’ll get.
So how do we do this?
By posting relatable stories, tips, inspiring quotes and behind the scenes of your life and business. Write and talk about your life, values, journey (highs and lows!)
In a nutshell – mix in PERSONAL snippets about you / your life, ask people questions, talk to your Instagram followers like they are your friends!
The next thing that’s super important on Instagram is your use of hashtags. I’m going to write a whole post on this soon, so stay tuned for my tips on using hashtags as well. 🙂
One last note I want you to think about after saying all this – don’t get too fixated on the numbers, your Instagram worth isn’t based on your likes or comments.
It’s based on relationships and engagement.
As long as you:
- stay consistent (keep posting and showing up)!
- like, comment and engage on other peoples’ posts.
You’ll start to see the results you’re looking for.
